New life in Taipei + company trip in middle Việt Nam

I started my new job for 2.5 months, as a manager there are more things to take care of, for example plans plus always response with solutions, management for my department and helps my boss to do the enterprise transformation. They are all my challenges. Beside the relationship with someone ranking higher than me, the communication between parallel ranked departments manager is also a new thing for me. However, this new job is amazing. Thanks god that I got this opportunity to work here. I could solve many problems with my boss.

5 days company trip in middle Việt Nam

Recently I went to Vietnam for a 5 days country trip, I believe that’s one of the Manifestation of law of attraction. I wasn’t plan to go there, but other places, because I was just enrolling in this new job, I couldn’t get the subsidy from the company. Nonetheless, one of my colleagues gave up his place for me, so that I could go to this company trip with his subsidy from company.

I wanted to visit middle Vietnam for so long and this became real. I was really satisfied with it. We visited, Da Nang, Hội An, Ba Na hills. Hội An is the most historical one and it’s listed on UNESCO world heritage. Walking alongside the river and feel the aura of this old town is just fascinating.

I bought my first tailored suit jacket in my life there. The boss took a day to make it and delivered it to My hotel in Da Nang next day. Our schedule with tour guide is mainly fixed so it was also a challenge to find a certain time that I could meet up with that boss and let her check if the suit fits. Luckily, it works well and it fits perfectly and with delivery fee by her own it costs only 90 USD. I didn’t know about how good this could be, but now I regret of I didn’t buy more tailored suits from that shop.

Interesting similarity

I seldom travel in Asian countries, it was mostly European and western countries. I remember a joke from me and my Dutch friend, when I visited Netherland back to 2018. I said something like “You guys all looks the same.“ She rolled her eyes at me and said “Come on Paul that’s discrimination. “It seems to me that Vietnamese looks very alike like us. Some Chinese people even says they looks like chinese without speaking Chinese. I don’t wanna trapped in race and ideology too much or provoking anyone’s nerves. However, for me they look very similar to us and this feeling is very interesting. Looks alike but couldn’t communicate and I have many western friends we don’t looks alike but we know each other well. This is so called languages barrier combine with the appearance conflict. That feeling is weird but riveting for me.

Diligent tutor and personal new goal

I am also very into Vietnamese culture, foods and people. I would like to travel to middle Vietnam again and take a walk in Imperial City, Hue (Hoàng thành Huế), which is the place I didn’t go during company trip. Besides that, I really want to visit my friends in Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, after I came back to Taiwan, I started to learn Vietnamese from my warm-hearted Vietnamese tutor Trang. She is a super hard working foreign student and speaks perfect Chinese. I really admire her ability of Chinese speaking and the character of independence. I had a hard time writing Chinese words, when I was a kid and when I left my hometown at 18 years old, I didn’t even have courage to buy train ticket. Not to mention, when I went abroad first time alone it was already 25 years old. I know how hard it is to learn a language from scratch. God knows how much this little girl has overcome when she came to Taiwan at 18 years old with limited Chinese speaking ability. I really respect that!

I believe I could keep on learning this language. If I can speak it fluently, this language will be my sixth languages after “Chinese, Taiwanese, English, German, Russian. “I am addicted to such achievement. My dad said “What’s wrong with you? you go to one country you learn one language! “I guess, i really like how wrong this is! haha

Windows of essence of trueness

Some says” If you know a new language, it’s like open a new window to see a brand-new world.” My German teacher says that “learning a new language is like exploring the essence of trueness. As more you learn, you are closer to that essence of communication.” I am addicted to this feeling and always looking forward to learn more thing.

Cycling life in Taipei + Ubeareat

I like to ride my bike along the Keelung River from Xizhi to Songshan Dist, watching young people workout or dating on the riverside bike way and feel the airliner’s engine sound while scrambling up from the Songshan Airport. There are also many parks along the riverside bike way. Sometime you can see people practice different sports or having different activities there, it’s wonderful to see such thing, cause in my hometown there are mainly old people there and not really energetic.

In order to keep in shape and get to know the city I started UberEATS delivery part time job recently. I delivery food or parcel with my road bike. Xizhi is basically the city not many people like to ride bicycle, cause it’s not flat. So, I had earned some admirations from pedestrian and restaurants. It’s so far, the most 1+N (Check my previous article) side job I could get recently. I will keep on delivering loves and foods to people. Foods are sacred, I could image how satisfied my customers are after finishing a great dinner. So I always delivery it with sacred mind.
